Five people injured in two-pickup crash Saturday in Ransom County

Five people were injured in a two-pickup crash at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The patrol said Trenten Baumler, 14, Enderlin, N.D., was driving a pickup northbound on a Ransom County gravel road 10 miles west of Enderlin and one mile south of Highway 46 when he failed to yield at an unmarked intersection. He struck a westbound pickup driven by Sharon Lund, 62, Nome, N.D.

Baumler was not injured. The patrol said Baumler’s passenger, Chase Kemmer, 15, was transported by ground ambulance to Lisbon with unknown injuries. Kemmer’s city of residence was not listed in the media release on the crash.

Lund and her passenger, Heather Lund, 36, Nome, were airlifted to Sanford in Fargo. Two other passengers in the vehicle, David Lund, 16, and Kierra Lund, 8, both of Nome, were taken by ground ambulance to Sanford in Fargo.

The injuries sustained were not known, the patrol said, adding that all were conscious at the scene. All were wearing seat belts.

The 2001 Dodge 1500 extended cab pickup driven by Baumler sustained severe front-end damage. The 2001 Ford Super Crew four-door pickup driven by Sharon Lund was totaled, the patrol said.

In addition to the patrol, the Ransom County Sheriff’s Office and Enderlin Fire Department responded to the crash.

The patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
