BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A western North Dakota county may require oil companies to sign agreements to repair the road damage caused by heavy trucks.
Dunn County road superintendent Mike Zimmerman says the county's main roads have to be improved soon, or they'll be damaged by winter traffic.
Zimmerman is asking the Dunn County Commission to require oil companies that use the roads to sign agreements to put the roads back into their former condition.
The Dickinson Press reports the commission is considering Zimmerman's suggestions.
Dunn County is one of the leading oil-producing counties in western North Dakota.
