Spate of car break-ins reported in Bismarck

Bismarck police say that thieves nabbed more than $1,700 in property in a spate of vehicle break-ins over the weekend.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Bismarck police say that thieves nabbed more than $1,700 in property in a spate of vehicle break-ins over the weekend.

Sgt. Mark Buschena tells the Bismarck Tribune that police have so far fielded four theft reports from the same part of town and in the same time frame late Saturday through early Sunday. The thefts were near East Century Avenue and State Street.

Among the items reported stolen: $300 in school supplies, a $125 GPS unit, a $250 iPod Touch and a necklace valued at $1,000.

Some of the targeted vehicles had been left unlocked.
