Cardinals sweep past P-B-K Rebels

Madison Wendel tallied nine kills, five aces and two blocks and Breana Barton added five aces as Carrington rolled to a 25-16, 26-9, 25-14 win over Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal in Class B volleyball Monday night in Carrington.

Madison Wendel tallied nine kills, five aces and two blocks and Breana Barton added five aces as Carrington rolled to a 25-16, 26-9, 25-14 win over Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal in Class B volleyball Monday night in Carrington.

The Cardinals, who travel to New Rockford for the District 7 tournament on Thursday, also got four kills and two digs from Kayla Hochhalter.

P-B-K’s Taylor Uehran had a match-high three blocks. The Rebels start the District 5 tournament Thursday in Ellendale.

Taylor Nordby pounded out 15 kills and three aces as Harvey-Wells County handled Dakota Prairie 25-10, 25-8, 25-5 in Harvey.

Sarah Davis had eight kills and three blocks, and Haley Fornshell added five kills.

Dakota Prairie was led by Paige Dahl, who had four digs and a pair of kills.

Nicole Warren’s 10 kills and five digs paced Oakes in a 25-14, 26-24, 25-16 win over host Ellendale.

Lydia Hansen had five kills, and Shelby Gelinske added two blocks in the win.

Ellendale’s Shayna Mertz had a team-high eight kills in the loss.

The Rockets made quick work of the visiting Barnes County North Bison, 25-10, 25-13, 25-18, in the final regular season match for the Rockets in New Rockford.

Kortney Roscoe racked up a match-high 11 aces for the Rockets in the victory, while Ashley Ystaas posted nine kills and Marissa Duchscherer tossed up 16 assists.

The Bison were led by Kayla Erker, Abby Undem and Hannah Wilson, who all notched three kills. The District 7 tournament gets under way on Thursday in New Rockford with the Rockets facing Lakota-Adams-Edmore.
