Error sounds emergency sirens in Casselton
Repair crews in the North Dakota town of Casselton are trying to figure out why emergency sirens inexplicably went off Tuesday night.
CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — Repair crews in the North Dakota town of Casselton are trying to figure out why emergency sirens inexplicably went off Tuesday night.
The Forum reports that residents heard the tone of emergency sirens ringing throughout Casselton around 10:30 p.m. with no explanation.
Public works crews were able to silence the sirens by manually disabling the siren.
Casselton Auditor Sheila Klevgard says a repair crew is en route to the city, and she expects work to be finished by Thursday.
Klevgard said in an email to residents that the siren is designed to emit a different tone based on the type of emergency, which is why Tuesday night's tone is not one heard before.
