Johnson earns AAP certification

Michelle Johnson, Automatic Clearing House coordinator with First Community Credit Union, has recently earned her Accredited ACH Professional certification. The AAP designation is obtained by passing a nationally administered exam given annually in October.

Michelle Johnson, Automatic Clearing House coordinator with First Community Credit Union, has recently earned her Accredited ACH Professional certification. The AAP designation is obtained by passing a nationally administered exam given annually in October.

Johnson has been in the ACH field for two years now and has been with FCCU for 12 years. Prior to working as ACH Coordinator, she has also worked with FCCU as a member service representative and member service representative supervisor.

As the ACH coordinator, Johnson works with the automatic processing of transactions to members’ accounts. These may consist of direct deposits and direct withdrawals. Businesses may also originate these ACH transactions with FCCU.

“Michelle has shown dedication to her position and FCCU by taking this extra step in person and career development. We are very proud of her accomplishments in achieving this certification,” said Stephanie Finck, Operations Manager of FCCU.

The AAP exam covers a wide range of ACH information including: knowledge of the ACH Network and comparative payment systems; knowledge of ACH rules and regulations; technical ACH skills including operational requirements; understanding of ACH products and applications; risk management and other policy issues; marketing ACH services; management of electronic payment services; Regulation E and other federal requirements.

AAP accreditation is valid for five years.
