Bond set for teen accused in high-speed ND chase

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Bond has been set at $7,500 for a 19-year-old Belcourt man accused of leading law enforcement on a 40-mile, high-speed chase west of Grand Forks.
The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/XAc89D ) that Sheldon Lee Demery told a Grand Forks judge that he was trying to return to the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation to resume his high school studies.
Authorities say Demery led them on a chase Thursday that reached speeds of nearly 100 mph.
Demery was charged with theft of a car, fleeing police, reckless driving, criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license.
