Bond set for teen accused in N.D. chase

GRAND FORKS (AP) — Bond has been set at $7,500 for a 19-year-old Belcourt man accused of leading law enforcement on a 40-mile, high-speed chase west of Grand Forks.
The Grand Forks Herald reported that Sheldon Lee Demery told a Grand Forks judge that he was trying to return to the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation to resume his high school studies.
Authorities said Demery led them on a chase Thursday that reached speeds of nearly 100 mph.
Demery was charged with theft of a car, fleeing police, reckless driving, criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license.
