Letter to the editor: Corruption and evil arise when the public gets lazy

A sticker states “Politicians, like babies need changed, and changed often.”

How can some elected officials put in a full day at work, when much of their time spent on TV shows, entertaining Hollywood and campaigning. How many tax dollars spent for travel, security etc? They deserve a reduction in wages.

We need statesmen. I fear many may have been slaughtered via abortion, without dignity, respect or in regards to their Constitutional rights.

I assure you, I’m not a fan of any party or their continuous calls and junk mail.

Character, morals, principals, and leadership ability decides my vote. The trillions our nation owes is unfairly stealing our young people’s American Dream.

We have corruption because people don’t get involved and hold those politicians to the fire.

British statesman Edmund Burd said “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

To paraphrase Eleanor Roosevelt, we pay much attention to the sins of violence with tragic effects, and too little attention to the sins of apathy and laziness, which in the long run has a more devastating effect.

The war between good and evil will never cease with the end of time.

President Barack Obama mentioned we are nearing the date of our troops will come home. Why not now? Do our weapons have an expiration date after which we can’t use them?

This election may very well decide this nation’s destiny, back to its foundation or to ashes like Sodom and Gamorrah.

But there is hope, if we commit, become partners with God and raise our flag higher, even if it offends the enemy. Before we vote, we can ask ourselves “What would Jesus do?”
