No one was believed to have been injured in a Wednesday fire at the Quality Inn & Suites, according to Jim Reuther, Jamestown Fire Department chief.

Crews were dispatched at 7:55 p.m. to the hotel located at 507 25th St. SW. By 8:15 members of the fire department checked a number of rooms on the northwest side of the building and evacuated smoke.

Reuther said it was possible the fire alarm system shorted out, which could have caused the fire. An electrician was on site around 8:20 p.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. More information was not immediately available at press deadline.
