Man sentenced in stabbing case
A Belcourt man has been sentenced to six years and five months in federal prison for a stabbing on the Turtle Mountain Reservation. U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon said 30-year-old Kenneth N. Allery Jr. was sentenced on Tuesday. Allery pleaded guilty to a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily in May.
MINOT (AP) — A Belcourt man has been sentenced to six years and five months in federal prison for a stabbing on the Turtle Mountain Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon said 30-year-old Kenneth N. Allery Jr. was sentenced on Tuesday. Allery pleaded guilty to a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily in May.
Allery also was ordered to pay more than $35,200 in restitution.
Authorities said Allery stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife in May 2011. The victim sought medical attention and underwent surgery for his injury.
