Letter to the editor: Haak is the right choice to represent District 12

With the election right around the corner we’ve been seeing a lot of information about the candidates. While much attention is focused on the federal and statewide races, it is important to pay attention to local races, such as our Legislature.

Jessica Haak is the District 12 candidate for the North Dakota House of Representatives who works hard and dedicates herself to community stewardship before time for herself. She delivers meals on wheels to seniors, coaches Special Olympics, volunteers for the Safe Shelter and helps raise money for the United Way of Stutsman County.

In addition to being very involved in the community, Haak is the membership director for North Dakota Farmers Union, and has worked there for nearly four years. She travels across the state and visits with people about concerns and issues.

Haak’s determination and commitment to succeed is evidenced by her Jamestown College experience, graduating with a double major in four years. While a full-time student, she worked at the Anne Carlsen Center and had two other jobs to put herself through college. She truly understands the value of a dollar and how hard it can be to earn it.

She is a dedicated, energetic young woman who works hard to better her community. That is why I am asking you to vote for her. Haak is committed to the people of Jamestown and as a legislator will work tirelessly on our behalf every single day.

When you go to the polls on Nov. 6, please vote Haak for House. She will bring exactly what we need to represent District 12 in the Legislature: her impressive work ethic, intelligence, dedication, compassion and high energy.
