Nominees are in every community. There are many whose contributions are highly valued by those who know them, but whose deeds often go unnoticed.
From the business people who give financial support, to the arts organization that presents the arts, to the teacher who finds money to bring the arts to his/her students; look for people who have helped plan, shape and promote area arts events.
The Governor’s Awards for the Arts are presented by the North Dakota Council on the Arts, Arts North Dakota and the Governor’s Office. Previous recipients have been chosen for their efforts to expand arts opportunities to new audiences, improve the quality of arts experiences, create an appreciation for North Dakota’s cultural heritage, and make the arts more central to education and an integral part of community life.
Nominations can be made in the following categories: individual achievement (artist, staff, volunteer, administrator), arts organization, arts in education (teacher, administrator, school), private business
