Ceremony planned for deploying soldiers

Four North Dakota Army National Guard soldiers will be honored during a ceremony Saturday ahead of a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan and Qatar.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Four North Dakota Army National Guard soldiers will be honored during a ceremony Saturday ahead of a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan and Qatar.

The soldiers are members of the Guard's 1919th Contingency Contracting Team and are based out of Bismarck. The soldiers will be responsible for contracting support with civilian organizations and in-country contractors as well as other foreign businesses.

The send-off ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Raymond J. Bohn Armory in Bismarck. Gov. Jack Dalrymple is among the scheduled speakers.
