Travel alert issued for parts of N.D. west of Bismarck and Minot

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and the North Dakota Highway Patrol have issued a travel alert for portions of Central North Dakota due to freezing rain causing icy road conditions for areas west of Minot and west of Bismarck making travel hazardous.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and the North Dakota Highway Patrol have issued a travel alert for portions of Central North Dakota due to freezing rain causing icy road conditions for areas west of Minot and west of Bismarck making travel hazardous. The alert includes the cities New Town, Bowbells, Tioga, Stanley, Glen Ullin and New Salem.

This system is expected to continue moving to the east through central North Dakota this morning. Motorists can still travel, but are encouraged to use extreme caution, reduced speeds and drive according to the conditions.
