Letter to the editor: Republicans acting like they’re afraid of losing

The GOP candidates must really be worried about their chance of getting elected by all the negative campaigning they’re doing.

The GOP candidates must really be worried about their chance of getting elected by all the negative campaigning they’re doing. They will tell people anything, if they think it will get them a vote. They admit things are turning around and heading in the right direction. So now they are anxious to get in office, so they can take credit for it. They have been in office several times over the past 35 or so years. If they had been doing such a great job they wouldn’t have been kicked out. They like to talk conservatism and how they don’t like to throw money at situations. Because it’s the peoples money. I think most people should see right through that argument and the way they’re spending money on campaigns. Maybe about 10 percent of what they tell people is the truth. That’s good enough for them if they think it sounds good. I guess that’s why they need a TV ad every 10 minutes, and stuff people’s mailboxes with campaign propaganda every day. Positive-thinking people doesn’t pay much attention to that.

All they have to do is look back at why they kicked the Republicans out in the first place. They mess things up so bad it takes years to try and get it straightened out. When things start to look a little promising the mighty conservatives throw many hundreds of millions of dollars at campaigns to try to get back in to mess it up. They don’t spend much time telling people what they’re doing to do to make a big difference. The just want people to believe in their hollow agenda.

Remember George worthless. They were naïve enough to give him two terms because my guess is they didn’t think after one term things were bad enough yet. Then remember how people were so anxious to get rid of the Republicans again. Of course, then the Republicans thought the Democrats should be able to straighten that mess out in six months. But you have to excuse them because that’s what they think. If Rick Berg is doing such a great job why are they so afraid of him getting replaced by Heidi Heitkamp and other Democrats? The presidential campaign is just as bad. It could be after the elections there will be a lot of downhearted, bawling Republicans. And if not, they’re going to have a lot of proving to do. Which I doubt they can, we have seen those situations before.
