Boston scores pair of goals in third to top UND

GRAND FORKS (AP) — Matt Lane and Danny O'Regan scored 11 seconds apart with time running down Saturday to lead Boston University to a 4-2 win over North Dakota in men's college hockey.

Lane broke a 2-2 tie for the Terriers (4-2-0) at 18:10 of the third period. Eleven seconds later, O'Regan stole a puck in front of the UND net and scored to make it 4-2.

Fifth-ranked North Dakota (3-2-1), which beat the Terriers 4-2 on Friday, took a 2-1 lead into the final period. But Matt Nieto's goal at 14:39 tied it and goalie Matt O'Connor made 12 of his 26 saves to preserve the lead.

“The final two goals we gave up was just not good hockey,” North Dakota coach Dave Hakstol said. “We had a very uncharacteristic last five minutes. To be honest, it was a couple of breakdowns.”

Stephane Pattyn and Danny Kristo scored for UND. Pattyn's goal was a gift just 5:47 into the game. He sent the puck off the glass behind the net and it rebounded behind O'Connor and off the goalie's skate.
