The Salvation Army in Jamestown helps with rent assistance, prescriptions, clothing, gas, medical and utilities and operates its food pantry. It helps with disaster services, gives spiritual care, offers coats for kids, runs the angel trees and gives holiday food baskets to those in need and helps the increasing number of homeless people here. It also offers church services every Sunday.
The annual Kettle Drive fundraiser begins Nov. 16. The goal is $146,000 this year. The Brectos hope to get $72,000 from kettles and $74,000 from mail appeals and other sources.
Sandy Franke led the meeting with 26 members attending along with five spouses for spouses day and two Key Club members, Maggie Erickson and Kayla Weng. Don and Sharon Caine led the group singing and Chuck Axtman collected “Happy Dollars.”
Tim Burchill presented the actual Zeller Awards that he just received to DeLette Winkleman, Janna Bergstedt and Don Bentz.
Bentz will introduce the program at the Nov. 12 noon luncheon meeting at the Lantern Room.
