Looysen, Haak are new N.D. representatives

In a race of newcomers, Republican Alex Looysen and Democrat Jessica Haak were both elected as North Dakota District 12 representatives Tuesday.

In a race of newcomers, Republican Alex Looysen and Democrat Jessica Haak were both elected as North Dakota District 12 representatives Tuesday.

Haak received 2,965 votes, backed by 27.90 percent of voters. Looysen was close behind with 2,881 votes, or 27.11 percent.

Incumbent Democrat Lyle Hanson received 2,548 votes, or 23.97 percent, and Republican Kenneth Hall got 2,220 votes, or 20.89 percent.
