FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Democratic governor candidate Ryan Taylor says he believes his ideas hit home with people, but not enough to put him over the top in a state with a booming economy.
Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple, who took over in 2010 when John Hoeven ran for U.S. Senate, defeated Taylor to earn his first four-year term.
Taylor believes he and running mate Ellen Chaffee offered "solid solutions and policies" and says he asked Dalrymple to consider those ideas after calling to congratulate him on the victory.
Says Taylor, "We knew we would get outspent, but we don't ever think we were outworked."
