When is a wink trustworthy?
Claris Liechty saw distrust in the wink of an eye that Heidi Heitkamp showed when she hit a softball out of the park in one of her ads. So to be sure, Liechty said she checked with a dictionary and the Holy Bible, which is gospel, to be sure a wink means “distrust.”
What if someone shows a thumbs up and winks or shows a thumbs down and winks — distrust? Or a teacher giving her fourth-grade student a wink as he finishes reciting the Gettysburg Address — distrust?
Or a graduating daughter who is being congratulated by her professor, grasps her diploma tightly and as she walks from the podium, sees the faces of her proud parents and winks — distrust? No way!
There are many meanings one can get from a wink. C’mon, Liechty I know you are smarter than that —wink, wink.
