City officials are hoping to meet with the board of Stutsman Rural Water District on Nov. 15. The meeting is yet to be confirmed by the water district.
If confirmed, the meeting will be open to the public.
The announcement came after a second closed-door executive session of the City Council in two weeks.
After the meeting, Mayor Katie Andersen said the city is continuing with engineering work on the water tower planned for south Jamestown. Current plans place the water tower on land owned by the North Dakota State Hospital.
“We are hoping to immediately see a five-year lease,” Andersen said. “And then be able to get a 99-year easement finalized.”
The water tower is still planned for completion in the fall of 2013.
