Two N.D. counties declared drought

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has designated Burke and Divide counties in northwestern North Dakota as primary natural disaster areas due to drought.

BISMARCK (AP) — U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has designated Burke and Divide counties in northwestern North Dakota as primary natural disaster areas due to drought.

They become the 26th and 27th primary disaster counties in the state. Aid also is available to farmers and ranchers in 21 counties that are contiguous to the primary counties.
