Branson, Brown lead Jimmies in Fargo

Marlon Branson placed fifth at 174 pounds to lead the Jimmies at the Bison Open in Fargo on Saturday.

Marlon Branson placed fifth at 174 pounds to lead the Jimmies at the Bison Open in Fargo on Saturday.

Branson, a senior from Kodiak, Alaska, was 2-2 in contested matches, but got an injury default in the fifth-place match.

Samuel Brown was the only other JC wrestler with multiple wins on the day. Brown notched a major decision and then another win consecutively at 149, but fell one short of a placing match.

Edward Wilson (133), Dillon Kifer (141), Brian Kraehler (184) and Antonio Lopez (heavyweight) each collected single wins.

Jamestown College returns to action Saturday at the Cobber Open in Moorhead.
