The Jimmies capped off a nice weekend in Nebraska with an easy win over Tabor College Saturday afternoon.
Eleventh-ranked Jamestown College scored nine of the first 11 points of the game and never looked back en route to a 78-47 win to go 2-0 at the Midland Lutheran Classic.
The Jimmies improved to 5-1 overall. They play a pair of exhibition games against NCAA Division II teams this week, starting Tuesday night at Minot State. On Saturday, they travel to St. Cloud to face the Huskies.
Playing without leading scorer Bridget Schuneman, the Jimmies still dominated inside as Megan Pold, Amber Ramlo and Kayla Roemmich all scored in double figures. The three JC post players combined for 47 points.
The Jimmies controlled the game throughout. They strung together a 16-2 run midway through the second half that turned an already comfortable 18-9 lead into a 34-11 bulge.
Pold came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points in just 24 minutes. She hit on eight of her 10 shots. She also pulled down six rebounds.
Ramlo secured another double-double with 17 points and a game-leading 12 rebounds. Roemmich, starting in place of Schuneman, added 11 points.
Morgan Mathison and Carly Jensen also were in double figures with 11 points each. Jensen sank a trio of 3-pointers.
