Five Jimmies get academic honor

Three Jamestown College football players and two volleyball players have been honored for the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District men’s football team.

Junior kicker Ryan Benke, and senior defensive back Kyle Blumenshine, and senior defensive lineman Andrew Hammond were voted Academic All-District 5 for the College Division.

Honored from the volleyball team were senior Katie Zent and junior Sarah Becker.

The College Division consists of NAIA schools, Canadian schools, and 2 year schools. District 5 includes schools from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.3 grade point average and be at least a sophomore.
