Local athletes cited for weekly awards
Alex Lind of Jamestown High School and Jamestown College’s Christina Zamora and Marlon Branson have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Alex Lind of Jamestown High School and Jamestown College’s Christina Zamora and Marlon Branson have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Lind, a senior diver for the Blue Jays, won her second straight state title on the diving board in Mandan last weekend.
Zamora, a sophomore from Orange County, Calif., on the JC women’s wrestling team, went 3-1 to place second at 155 pounds at the Missouri Valley Open on Sunday.
Branson, a senior from Kodiak, Alaska, on the Jimmie men’s wrestling team, went 3-2 to place fifth at the Bison Open at 174 pounds against NCAA Division I and II competition.
