Federal prosecutor honored for handling drug cases

A federal prosecutor from North Dakota has been cited for his work on drug trafficking cases.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A federal prosecutor from North Dakota has been cited for his work on drug trafficking cases.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Myers will receive the 2012 Outstanding Prosecutor Award from the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area.

The program provides assistance to law enforcement agencies to fight crime in critical drug trafficking regions of the United States. The Midwest region covers North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

A ceremony honoring Myers is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the federal courthouse in Fargo.
