Hoge, Jimmies square mark at 3-3

Mark Hoge had 20 points and six rebounds off the bench and led a late comeback as Jamestown College defeated Waldorf College at the Viterbo (Wis.) Classic Friday night 70-63.

The Jimmies trailed 63-62 with 90 seconds left, but they scored the final seven points of the game to square their record at 3-3. They will play the host V-Hawks in the championship game today at 3 p.m. The two teams met just eight days ago at the Civic Center with Viterbo winning 63-55.

The Jimmies made nine of their 21 3-pointers in the game and shot 47 percent overall.

Hoge led the way after missing the previous three games with a shoulder injury.

Davon Thomas knocked down three triples and scored 15 points for the Jimmies. Aaron Stemen had 13 points off the bench and Taylor Newton kicked in 10.

The Jimmies overcame 19 turnovers.

Mitch Barrett-Burrell led Waldorf with 12 points as it remained winless at 0-5.
