The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos this week:

*Bravo to Alex Lind, Jamestown High School senior, who repeated as state diving champion last weekend at the state swimming and diving meet. Lind won the same title last year.

*Bravo to Shelby Debell, 19-year-old Grand Forks woman who is talking to people about the importance of wearing a seat belt. Debell was seriously injured in an Aug. 15 crash when she was ejected from the vehicle in which she was riding. Debell was not wearing a seat belt. She is still recuperating from her injuries.

*Bravo to the organizers of the Health Technology and Trades Career Fair, held Tuesday at the Jamestown Civic Center. The event drew almost 1,000 students from around the region to learn firsthand about different kinds of careers and included hands-on demonstrations.

*Bravo that North Dakota set an oil production record in September. The state’s oil production was almost 174 million barrels at the end of September, compared to 152.9 million barrels in all of 2011.

*Bravo to the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets for winning their first state title. The team beat Divide County 40-22 Nov. 9 in the North Dakota 9-man football championship game of the Dakota Bowl.
