Health and wellness shop opens

A new health and wellness center is slated to open next week in Jamestown that covers a multitude of health aspects.

Health to Go and H20, located at 1015 Fifth Ave. NE, will offer nearly everything a person could want for health and wellness products — starting with a café.

The doors are scheduled to open on Black Friday.

“This is my dream coming through,” said Jolynn Gienger, who co-owns the business with her husband, Ross. “This has been the biggest thing in my life and we’re primarily gluten-free,” she said of the café.

The café, Baking with Bling, will feature natural foods and drinks including soups, smoothies, stews, salads, wraps and a variety of baked goods, not to mention coffee.

Upstairs at Health to Go and H20 there will be a large furnished room for café patrons. The room will also be available for clubs to rent out and will eventually host speakers on health-related topics.

The café menu will be primarily gluten-free and will feature foods cooked and cleaned with alkaline water, a slightly alkali-electrolyzed water Gienger said has health properties.

The store will also sell appliances for homes so people can produce their own alkaline water.

“I don’t buy bottled water, I haven’t had a pop for four years,” Jolynn said. “There’s many, many things out there that are healthier to drink and that’s what we’re going to teach people.”

Health to Go and H20 will also have a full-line of organic foods — most of which will be gluten-free — for sale.

“The biggest thing is, I can’t believe how many people I talked to in the last few months that have gone gluten-free,” Jolynn said.

Everything from candy and snack foods to frozen foods and dried fruit chips will be available.

“We specialize in a lot of things that grocery stores aren’t going to have,” Ross said.

Health to Go and H20 will also offer a variety of vitamins, supplements and bath materials for purchase.

A new professional-grade supplement product will also be arriving shortly, Ross said.

In addition the store will carry air purification systems that essentially disinfect everything in the room, he said.

Health to Go and H20 will also have Linda Nitschke as a massage therapist and Mika Thorlakson as a chiropractor.

“We’re tickled to come here, we’re tickled to bring it here,” Jolynn said. “I know the public is waiting for us to open. I like to help people, let’s put it that way.”
