Verizon adds 4G LTE service to area

Verizon Wireless announced customers will have greater access to its 4G Long Term Evolution network in more parts of North Dakota and in the Detroit Lakes area of Minnesota with the expansion of its 4G LTE network starting Nov. 15.

Verizon Wireless announced customers will have greater access to its 4G Long Term Evolution network in more parts of North Dakota and in the Detroit Lakes area of Minnesota with the expansion of its 4G LTE network starting Nov. 15.

The expansion of its 4G LTE network in more areas of North Dakota and western Minnesota will enable customers to use their 4G LTE wireless devices to surf the Web, stream music and video, access thousands of applications, and stay in touch with family and friends, all with speeds up to 10 times faster than before.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, customers who visit or live in the following areas of North Dakota and Minnesota will be able to take advantage of expanded 4G LTE coverage:

* West on Interstate 94 to Jamestown.

* North of Fargo on Interstate 29 to Grand Forks.

* South of Fargo on I-29 to the South Dakota border.

* East of Fargo on I- 94 to Fergus Falls, Minn.

* East of Fargo on U.S. Highway 10 to Detroit Lakes and on State Highway 34 to Osage, Minn.

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps.
