FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Defense testimony is set to resume in the trial of a Fargo surgeon accused of drugging and sexually assaulting his wife.
Dr. Jon Norberg has pleaded not guilty to gross sexual imposition and reckless endangerment. Trial began on Nov. 5 with jury selection.
Authorities say Norberg injected Dr. Alonna Norberg with the anesthetic propofol and had sex with her against her will. Jon Norberg says the couple agreed to use the drug to treat her chronic pain.
Propofol gained notoriety in the investigation into the death of Michael Jackson.
Monday will be the eighth day of testimony. Defense attorneys have not said whether Jon Norberg will take the stand.
The Associated Press typically does not identify alleged victims of sex crimes but Alonna Norberg has spoken publically about the case.
