5th-graders take 2nd, 1st

Submitted photo The Jamestown fifth-grade traveling boys basketball team placed second at the West Fargo Invitational Nov. 10-11 and won the Fargo Shanley All-Star tournament Nov. 16-17. In West Fargo, Jamestown defeated Moorhead Spectrum (34-30), Fargo Fire (44-22), West Fargo Mighty Ducks and lost to the Fargo Heat (43-32). At the Shanley tournament they defeated the Fargo Fire (24-16), West Fargo Boom (30-28) and Detroit Lakes, Minn., (32-22). Team members are back row, from left, Caden Heinert, Jaxton Wiest, Boden Skunberg, Trey Hummel and Carson Kidd. Front row, from left, Max Anderson, Thomas Schmiedeberg and Ben Sletto. The team is coached by Mark Wiest, Scott Schmiedeberg and Trent Sletto.
