Falcons, Lions each get two

Though it was upset in the opening round of the playoffs, the Maple Valley-Enderlin football team has plenty to feel good about.
The Falcons won Region 1 and got a couple of Class A all-state players out of it, too.
Senior Jordan Haselau was named first-team all-state as a defensive back and junior Dylan Claus made it on the first team as a defensive lineman, announced on Tuesday. The awards are voted on by coaches.
A few more made it in Region 1 as well, as Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock also had a pair of players. Senior linebacker Clay Jacob made it on the first team, while junior Al Gefroh was a defensive selection on the second team, where no positions were designated.
Also making it was Oakes junior Cole Ehrlin as an offensive player on the second team.
Kidder County junior Tanner Kessel earned second-team defensive honors, while Harvey-Wells County senior Koby Houchin was a second-team offensive selection.
Class AA will be announced tonight, while AAA is scheduled for the night of Thanksgiving.
