Blue Jay wrestlers ranked in state

The Jamestown Blue Jay wrestling team has seven wrestlers ranked in the top six, and as a team the Jays are ranked fifth in the state, according to the first state Class A coaches poll released today.
Jamestown’s Paxton Mewes and Zane Braun lead the way for Jamestown, as both are ranked No. 1 in the state at 103 and 152 pounds, respectively.
The Jays’ Jaden Horstad and Ethan Gumke are both ranked third, Horstad at 126 and Gumke at 170. Jamestown has a second wrestler ranked at 170 in the form of Darren Crissler, who is ranked right behind Gumke at No. 4.
Ranked No. 6 for Jamestown is Ryan Hillerud at 145 and Mark Reynolds at 285.
Jamestown sits fifth in the state-wide team standings behind West Fargo (1), Bismarck (2), Minot (3) and Bismarck Century (4). The West Region is stout again like normal, as the Jays are ranked No. 4 in the West behind Bismarck (1), Minot (2) and Century (3).
