It was a day of Déjà vu for the Jamestown College basketball teams on Saturday.
Much like Friday night, the JC women struggled to put its opponent away, but still won by 15, while the Jimmie men went down to the wire with MSU-Northern before losing by two. They dropped a 1-point contest the day before.
The 11th-ranked Jimmie women improved to 8-1, while the men’s 68-66 loss to the NAIA Division I Northern Lights dropped them to 5-5. Both teams host Trinity Bible College Tuesday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the women’s game.

The Jimmie women wrapped up a 2-0 weekend in Dickinson with a 15-point win over the Battlin’ Bears.
The outcome was never really in doubt, but coach Greg Ulland is still hoping for more in terms of putting teams away.
“It was very similar to (Friday). We built fairly nice leads at a couple of points, then let them claw back in,” he said. “We’re still trying to master that end-of-game mentality. … Landing the final knockout punch.”
The Jimmies were up by 15 nearing halftime, but Rocky Mountain closed on a 10-0 run.
The Jimmies scored seven of the first eight of the second half and kept the lead around 10 or more for the balance of the game.
“The second half was a grind,” Ulland said. “But you look up and we got a 15-point win. We’ll take that.”
Sophomore Maggie Seter came off the bench to lead the Jimmies with 14 points despite rolling both ankles. The Jimmies have been dealing with injures from day 1 of the season. Kadie Savage did not play after twisting an ankle Friday.
“After Tuesday we have a nice break and it’s coming at the perfect time,” Ulland said. “We need to get healthy.”
Seter sank four of the Jimmies’ 12 3-pointers. Morgan Mathison and Carly Jensen each made three, finishing with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Amber Ramlo added 11 points and eight rebounds.

For the second straight day, the Jimmie men lost a 1-possession game.
Jamestown College led the 9-2 Northern Lights 63-58 with three minutes left in the game, but Jesse Vaughan spurred MSU-Northern’s 10-3 closing run to steal it.
The Jimmies dropped a 55-54 decision Friday night to the 24th-ranked team in NAIA D-I.
Mark Hoge had 23 points, four assists and three rebounds for the Jimmies, who scored 40 second-half points. Davon Thomas had his second straight double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Beny Collins had a season-best nine points off the bench.
The Jimmies made 52 (25-48) percent of their shots and outrebounded the Northern Lights for the second straight game, 33-27.
Vaughan sank three of MSU-Northern’s seven 3-pointers and finished with 20 points.
