Old Williston school to be senior apartments
Officials are launching a project to turn a historic building in Williston into affordable housing for senior citizens. The old junior high school in the oil boom city is being converted into 44 low-income apartments for seniors and space for community events. A groundbreaking was held Tuesday.
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Officials are launching a project to turn a historic building in Williston into affordable housing for senior citizens.
The old junior high school in the oil boom city is being converted into 44 low-income apartments for seniors and space for community events. A groundbreaking was held Tuesday.
The school building was built in 1931 and has been shuttered for several years. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The $10.6 million redevelopment project is getting federal, state and local funding and is slated to be completed in about a year. The building is being renamed the Lutheran Social Services Legacy Living at Central Place.
