Jensen, Thu given scholarship

Jamestown College, the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Regional Medical Center announce Joseph Jensen and Amber Thu have been awarded Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarships for the 2012-13 school year.

Jamestown College, the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Regional Medical Center announce Joseph Jensen and Amber Thu have been awarded Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarships for the 2012-13 school year.

Jensen, a 2012 graduate of Jamestown High School, plans to attend medical school after completing his education at Jamestown College and return to practice medicine in the area.

Thu, a 2012 graduate of Pingree-Buchanan High School, is a nursing major who plans to work as a geriatric nurse in a local nursing facility.

The purpose of the scholarship is to assist high school graduates from Stutsman County with an interest in remaining in the area after college graduation with the cost of pursuing a degree at Jamestown College.

At least one of the recipients must be pursuing a degree in a medical field.
