Patricia Bracken

Patricia Emolyn Silberg Bracken, 78, Jamestown, ND went to be with the Lord Jesus, Sunday, November 25, 2012.

Patricia was born on March 17, 1934 in Minnewaukan, ND, to Gordon & Bertha (Sheets) Silberg. She graduated from Oberon High School in 1952. Right before graduation she lost her mother who had suffered with a long illness. Patricia was her family’s main caregiver during and after her mother’s passing, while working as a telephone operator in Oberon. After graduation, she worked as the A.S.C. office in Minnewaukan. During that time she met and married the love of her life, Orlando Bracken and celebrated 54 years together. They farmed north of York, ND, raising 5 children.

In the early 70’s she met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Words can’t describe the peace, joy and transformation He brought into her life. This was the pivotal point for her family also.

She was a gracious hostess and loved opening her home to friends, family, and strangers.

Patricia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, baking, canning, and was an avid reader, and studied the word of God faithfully. She served the Lord with all her heart. We all enjoyed her wit and wonderful zest for life.

After her husband’s retirement, the family moved to Jamestown, ND where she lived the remainder of her days surrounded by her children. In her last years she struggled with pain immobility due to R.A. During this time, she continued to be an amazing inspiration to all, never wavering in her faith and love. She left us all a great legacy and heritage to follow.

Those waiting to join her are her son, Lanny; daughters, Sherry, Lori (Bob) Romsdal, Jodi (Doug Fogderud), and Barbi Caldwell, all of Jamestown; seven grandchildren, Kindra (Andrew) Tir, Cameron Caldwell, Bree Caldwell, Arianne Bracken, Tyler Bracken, Timothy Caldwell, Shiri Caldwell; three great granddaughters, Victoria and Ava Tir, and Anna Marie Bracken; one sister, Marlys (Jerry) Britsch, Jamestown; two brothers, Ronny (Bev) Silberg, Bakersfield, CA and Dennis (Becky) Silberg, Jamestown; brother-in-law, Ronnie Nelson, Minnewauken, ND.

Those gone before her are her parents; husband, Orlando; sister, Lila Nelson.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, N.D.
