Jamestown College volleyball players Sarah Becker and Katie Lee along with Jade Johnson from the Jimmie soccer team have earned All-American honors.
Becker, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker from Rochester, Minn., was named to the second team less than a week after being named the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s Northwest Region Player of the Year.
Becker compiled a team-leading 370 kills and 119 blocks during her junior season. She also hit a team-best .389, which was topped by only three players at the NAIA level.
Becker has 808 kills and 433 total blocks in her three seasons for the Jimmies.
Lee, a senior defensive specialist, earned honorable mention honors as one of the top liberos in the country. The former Fargo South standout amassed 707 digs, averaging 5.48 per set, good for 15th-best in the nation. In her junior and senior seasons combined, Lee registered 1,347 digs.
Lee also served in 48 aces for the Jimmies, who posted a 27-9 record and advanced to the opening round of the NAIA national tournament for just the second time in program history.
Johnson earned honorable mention honors after playing a pivotal role in helping Jamestown College to its first NAIA national tournament win, first-ever trip to the second round and a school-record 16 wins.
Johnson led the Jimmies in goals (14) and total points (36). He also had eight assists.
Johnson, a sophomore, from West Fargo, scored two goals in the Jimmies’ 3-2 loss to national-tournament host Auburn-Montgomery. The goalie he beat twice — Vignir Johannesson — was named a first-team All-American.
