Letter to the editor: Heartless driver hit family dog and just kept driving

I can only hope that the person who hit our small dog at 8 a.m. Nov. 17 driving on Seventh Avenue Southeast is reading this letter. I understand that accidents do happen and the driver didn’t mean to do this.

I can only hope that the person who hit our small dog at 8 a.m. Nov. 17 driving on Seventh Avenue Southeast is reading this letter. I understand that accidents do happen and the driver didn’t mean to do this.

However, what angers me is that the driver didn’t stop to see if there was anything he or she could do or offer the simple words “I am sorry” to my family. That is just wrong and heartless.

That little dog was family to us and a best buddy to our 2 1/2-year-old nephew. Now he doesn’t understand where his buddy is. All he sees is tears and sadness.

By the way, our little dog’s name was Ranger.
