Jewels of Prairie set Christmas event

The Jewels of the Prairie Red Hatters will celebrate Christmas with a buffet dinner at 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Arts Center.

Members must call Dorothy Chouinard at 252-3208 by Friday to say whether they can attend. There will be entertainment and sharing of stories of past Christmases over dinner.

Twenty-seven Jewels met at Grizzly’s Grill N’ Saloon in November. There were two guests, Carole Hample Switzer, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Pat Limbo, Jamestown. Switzer shared what she does as the activity director of the Denali Center Long Term facility at the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

Loretta Aipperspach took Carmen Mango, the traveling birthday doll, to spend the month and to come back to let members know what was going on at her place. Other birthdays were acknowledged. The Jewels attending were asked about a new product that they had tried and liked and answers ran the gamut from cleaning supplies to smoothies, baked potatoes and how to get spots out.

New members Ann Hess and Nancylou Jensen were introduced and welcomed.
