Sex offender changes address
The Jamestown Police Department wants to warn Jamestown residents about a convicted sex offender who has changed his address in Jamestown. Gero Davis Mahto, 42, is living at 414 Fourth St. NE #1. He drives a blue/white 1990 Ford F250 pickup, North Dakota license JSZ185. He also drives a green 1998 Ford Expedition with a North Dakota notary sticker. The Jamestown Police Department wants to warn Jamestown residents about a convicted sex offender who has changed his address in Jamestown.
Gero Davis Mahto, 42, is living at 414 Fourth St. NE #1. He drives a blue/white 1990 Ford F250 pickup, North Dakota license JSZ185. He also drives a green 1998 Ford Expedition with a North Dakota notary sticker.
Mahto is described as an American Indian male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 266 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
Mahto has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee, Office of the Attorney General.
He was convicted of gross sexual imposition on Sept. 22, 1992, in Cass County District Court, North Dakota. Authorities said Mahto forcibly raped four women during a three-month period. He was sentenced to 10 years on each count and given credit for 106 days.
Mahto is on probation with the North Dakota Parole and Probation Department and is on GPS monitoring. He is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten Mahto or his family, landlord or employer will be turned over for prosecution.
