The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos and a buffalo chip this week:

* Bravo to North Dakota being named the best-run state in the U.S. by a study by financial news outlet 24/7 Wall St. The study examined financial health, standard of living and government services.

* Bravo to Endless Harvest, which is taking lettuce from its test facility and providing it to Jamestown Public Schools and the Community Action Region VI food pantry for free, providing a nutritious product to Jamestown’s students and residents in need.

* Bravo to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program in Jamestown, which is in its fifth year of providing gifts to children of families in need.

* Bravo to the North Dakota Legislature’s redesigned website, which is meant to make it easier to find information about lawmakers and legislation. The new site is at www.legis.nd.gov.

* Buffalo chip to the worsening drought conditions afflicting the Dakotas. Our region will need a significant amount of moisture to provide for next year’s growing season.
