The new owners at Lifestyle Appliance & Entertainment Center think of the

change as more of a continuation of a family tradition rather than a different operation, according to Colin and Toni Wegenast, who purchased the store from Colin’s parents last summer.

Leroy Wegenast began Lifestyle Appliance about 35 years ago with his wife, Leanne. Colin and Toni become the second generation owners of the business.

“Someday I hope our children are able to step into the store and operate it,” Colin said. “That would mean we’re continuing the service our parents started.”

The public in Jamestown seems to agree. The store was voted the Best Appliance Store in the 2012 Best of the Buffalo City Area in November.

Toni said the store carries a wide variety of items under the banner of appliances. Labels stocked by the store include Samsung, Nordic Hot Tub, Maytag, LG, Amana, Frigidaire, Speed Queen, Holland Grill and Big Green Egg.

“It’s not just the kitchen and the laundry room,” she said. “We carry entertainment items, televisions and grills along with the dishwashers, stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers.”

All the products are selected based on quality.

“We pick the stuff we’d use in our own house,” Toni said. “Things we are comfortable selling to people we know.”

And quality products deserve quality service.

“It is the hometown service we offer and the community involvement of our employees,” Colin said. “We don’t believe in selling something we can’t service.”

Servicing appliances has become more challenging as the devices become more complicated.

“The appliances are more high tech,” Colin said. “Our staff is factory trained. The hardworking, dedicated employees make everything we do possible.”

Along with the staff, Colin and Toni offered thanks to the customers who voted them the top appliance store in the community.

“Repeat customers is what keeps us going,” Colin said. “I guess we wouldn’t get the Best of the Buffalo City Area if we weren’t keeping the customers satisfied.”
