Nov. 23: 10:50 a.m., ready squad responded to 1404 First Ave. N, Bethel Home, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.
Nov. 23: 10:03 p.m., fire department responded to 507 25 th St. SW, Quality Inn parking lot, to a report of a fire on a semi. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units. Cause: heated mirror on semi cab. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 25 minutes.
Nov. 24: 10:37 a.m., fire department responded to 728 Second St. SW, single family dwelling, to a report of an explosion with smoke. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: relief valve on boiler popped. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 30 minutes.
Nov. 25: 7:15 a.m., fire department responded to 1014 16 th St. NE #16, multi-family dwelling, to a report of smoke on second floor. No fire, firefighters exhausted smoke from the building and investigated. Cause: unattended cooking. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 30 minutes.
Nov. 25: 10:54 p.m., ready squad responded to 617 Fourth St. NW, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 0 ppm. Occupants were advised to replace battery in unit. Cause: detector malfunction. Time out: 30 minutes.
Nov. 26: 9:48 a.m., fire department heavy rescue squad responded to 1200 block of 10 th St. SE, to a report of a two-vehicle with multiple injuries. No extrication was needed, firefighters disconnected battery/s. No firefighter injuries. Cause: two vehicle accident. Time out: 20 minutes.
Nov. 29: 5:39 a.m., ready squad responded to 1510 Eighth Ave. NE, multi-family dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: fire drill. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.

Dec. 1: 11:52 a.m., fire department responded to 1315 Fourth St. NE, Rock of Ages, to a report of smoke in the boiler room. Firefighters checked with the thermal imaging camera and detected hot spot in the laundry wall. Cause: lint build up in the wall. Building was evacuated to provide safety to occupants. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 2 hours, 10 minutes.
Dec. 2: 2:12 p.m., ready squad responded to 2605 Circle Drive, North Dakota State Hospital-Lahaug Building, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 50 minutes.
Dec. 3: 9 a.m., ready squad responded to 2004 Fifth St. NE, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 0 ppm. Occupants were advised to replace battery in unit. Cause: unknown. Time out: 20 minutes.
Dec. 4: 7:12 p.m., fire department responded to 100 First Ave. S, to a report of a trash receptacle smoking. Firefighters extinguished a small fire. Cause: unknown. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 20 minutes.
Dec. 5: 6:36 a.m., ready squad responded to 102 Second Ave. SE, City Hall, to investigate fire alarm activation and sprinkler system activation. Firefighters requested for a general page of the entire department, due to the fact there was water flowing through the sprinkler system. Time out: 45 minutes.
Dec. 5: 6:49 a.m., fire department responded to 102 Second Ave. SE, City Hall, to assist ready squad in the fire alarm activation and sprinkler system activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: sprinkler system malfunction. No firefighter injuries. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 45 minutes.
Dec. 6: 9:36 a.m., fire department responded to U.S. Highway 281/52 North east on the fairgrounds road to extinguish a grass fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire with about 70 gallons of water. Cause: illegal burning within the city limits. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 20 minutes.
Dec. 6: 6:38 p.m., ready squad responded to 5855 Third St. SE, Cavendish Farms, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: sprinkler system activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.
