Blue Jays top Demons, qualify seven for state

The Jamestown High School boys swimming and diving team got plenty of work done in the diving department on Saturday in a 101-77 dual win at Bismarck High.

The Blue Jays qualified four divers for the state meet and seven individuals overall. Diving winner Riley Thom posted a score of 186.8. Cody Lutman was second with a 175.45, and Dylan Koenig (141.6) and Ian Eastham (163.0) also qualified.

Jamestown won seven of the 12 events including the 400 and 200 freestyle relay. Individual winners aside from Thom were Colt Rasmussen (1:02.97) in the 100 fly and Ben Harris (1:25.65) in the 100 breaststroke. Andy Oslund won both the 50 freestyle (23.52) and 100 freestyle (52.56) to qualify for state by time.

Rasmussen qualified in both the 100 fly and 50 free, and Braydon Love made it in the 200 free and 500 free.

The Blue Jays travel to Bismarck for an invitational on Saturday.
