Former N.D. governor talks oil

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Former North Dakota Gov. Ed Schafer will be the keynote speaker at a one-day conference in Rapid City this week about the Bakken oil boom and opportunities for western South Dakota businesses. Schafer will speak at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the conference.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Former North Dakota Gov. Ed Schafer will be the keynote speaker at a one-day conference in Rapid City this week about the Bakken oil boom and opportunities for western South Dakota businesses.

Schafer will speak at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the conference.

Schafer was governor of North Dakota from 1992 to 2000. He serves on the Board of Directors for Continental Resources, Inc., one of the largest and most active oil exploration and production companies doing business in North Dakota.
