Carrington eighth in latest Class B poll

The Carrington High School boys basketball team moved up one spot to eighth in the latest Class B state media poll.

The Carrington High School boys basketball team moved up one spot to eighth in the latest Class B state media poll.

The Cardinals garnered 42 votes, well ahead of ninth-place Rugby (26) and nine behind eighth-place Four Winds-Minnewaukan, which moved up to seventh after losing to No. 1 ranked North Star 72-71 in the championship game of the Ramsey County tournament in Devils Lake.

North Star remained at the No. 1 spot, receiving 10 of 13 first-place votes. Defending state champion Beulah received the other two and is second in the poll.

LaMoure-Litchville-Marion (3-0) was 12th, getting the second most tallies in the receiving-votes category.
